Safety tips for in-home beauty services

Use a defined service space, share trip details with someone you trust, confirm your Pro's license, and never share your address outside the in-app chat. The full safety reference is at /safety.

Mobile beauty services are statistically very safe — same incident rate as a brick-and-mortar salon, and the platform layers on tools you wouldn't have at a walk-in. A few practical habits make every booking smoother. Full canonical safety guidance is at /safety.

Before the booking

  • Read the pro's reviews. Five or more reviews on the profile is a strong signal. Look for repeat-client mentions ("I've been with [pro] for a year") — those are the highest-trust indicators.
  • Confirm the pro's credentials. Every Made Glow pro's profile shows a license number — you can verify it on the Florida DBPR public lookup. More on licensing.
  • Add a default service location. Pinning your home (vs. dropping a one-time pin) means it's only shared with confirmed bookings.

Setting up the space

  • Pick a defined room. Bathroom-adjacent for hair and makeup; quiet bedroom for facials; a kitchen island works great for nails. The pro brings their own portable setup.
  • Have a power outlet free. Most pros need one (LED nail lamp, hair tools, ring light, magnifying lamp). Multi-outlet strips are fine.
  • Secure pets. Even friendly pets distract the pro and can interfere with chemical-based services. A closed door or quiet room works.
  • Put valuables away. Same hygiene as having any service worker in your home — basic precaution, not specific to Made Glow.

During the appointment

  • Keep your phone accessible. Keep 911 and Made Glow's trust-and-safety contact (trust@madeglow.com) within easy reach in case you need to step away and report a concern.
  • Tell a trusted contact. Let a friend or family member know your appointment time and the pro's name and profile, so someone knows to check in on you.
  • Use in-app chat. Don't share phone numbers or email — the platform's record of every conversation is what backs incident reports.

After

Insurance

Pros on Made Glow are independent contractors. They are responsible for their own general-liability and professional-liability insurance. Made Glow does not provide, broker, or guarantee platform-funded liability insurance. See the Pro Agreement and /safety for the canonical statement.
